CM Inaugurates New Building Of Bharatpur Police Station
Naveen Patnaik, Bharatpur, Bhubaneswar

BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the newly constructed Bharatpur police station building on Monday, which includes a creche facility – a first-of-its-kind feature for working women cops in Odisha. The police station had been operating from an outpost for over three years prior to this development.
The three-storeyed building, erected on an acre of land at an estimated cost of Rs 4.50 crore, spans 11,400 sqft and employs cutting-edge smart building solutions for enhanced operational efficiency and improved public service delivery, as highlighted by Commissioner of Police Sanjeeb Panda.
Aside from the innovative creche facility, the new structure boasts landscaped lawns, a selfie point, and a waiting lounge. Functional spaces like an interrogation room and a conference hall have been incorporated into the design, along with a lightning protection system to ensure safety. All officers are provided with modular workspaces, contributing to a modern and efficient working environment.
While child-friendly rooms are not uncommon in other police stations across the state, the inclusion of a creche facility at the Bharatpur police station is a pioneering step toward addressing the unique needs of working women in the force, police officials said.
The comprehensive approach to the building's design and amenities underscores a commitment to the well-being of law enforcement personnel and the optimization of public service delivery. The inauguration marks a significant investment in modernizing law enforcement infrastructure in the city, cops said.
