V K Pandian rolls out Nua-O scholarships programme in Kalahandi, Balangir & Bargarh

BHUBANESWAR: Chairman 5T and Nabin Odisha V K Pandian visited Kalahandi, Balangir and Bargarh districts on Sunday. Pandian attended the Nua-O Scholarship distribution programme at Dharmagarh in Kalahandi, Titilagarh in Balangir and in Bargarh district and interacted with students.  

Pandian informed that 37,160 eligible students from 80 colleges of Kalahandi, Balangir and Bargarh districts will get their scholarship. Rs 36.81 crore has been sanctioned for 37,160 students from the 3 districts. He distributed Nua-O scholarship sanction orders to the students. 

Pandian conveyed the message of chief minister Naveen Patnaik that the youth should dream big and work hard towards achieving their goals. Pandian said the government will ensure that the youths are provided with the support to achieve their goals. 

Pandian said that the government’s next major initiative will be to cover all the students through launching of the futuristic Nabin Odisha magic card, a point-system based smart card which will engage and empower the youth and guide them towards academic, personality and skill development, and will reduce the financial burden on parents, create opportunities for career progression and employment.

Online registration portal for this card will be launched on March 5, 2024. Cards will be on August 15.
