Odisha CM instructs officials to safeguard paddy procurement from middlemen

BHUBANESWAR: During a review meeting on Thursday, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi instructed officials to prevent intermediaries from exploiting the ongoing paddy procurement operations in the state.
The Chief Minister assessed the advancement of the paddy procurement programme, which commenced on November 20.
"The Chief Minister has directed officials to keep a close watch on the middlemen so that they do not take advantage for farmers under any circumstances," according to an official statement released by his office.
