Odisha plays a pivotal role in India's growth: PM Modi

BHUBANESWAR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the ‘Odisha Parba 2024’ in New Delhi on Sunday and hailed the state’s rich culture.
“Delighted to take part in the Odisha Parba in Delhi. The state plays a pivotal role in India's growth and is blessed with cultural heritage admired across the country and the world,” the PM’s ‘X’ post read.
Modi said that his government will work to make Odisha one of the most progressed and empowered state in the country by 2036 when the state will celebrate its centenary foundation day.
The PM said Odisha has immense potential in port sector. The Centre will encourage export businesses from these ports. The steel and mining sectors will also be developed in Odisha, Modi stated.
“There was a time when eastern India was considered backward. But I considered eastern India to be the engine of development. Odisha should be a brand in seafood as there is plenty of potential for development in the sector. My government is committed to enhance the ease of doing business in Odisha,” Modi said.
