Maoist Surrenders In Kandhamal

BHUBANESWAR: A senior Maoist cadre belonging to Chhattisgarh on Thursday surrendered before the Deputy Inspector General (Southern range) and SP (Kandhamal) at Phulbani in Kandhamal district.
This is a major achievement by the police in the anti-Maoist operation on the eve of the three day conference of DGPs at Bhubaneswar.
Bija Madvi alias Tikes (25), a member of the Kalahandi Kandhamal Boudh Nayagarh Division of CPI (Maoist) (Rahul Area Committee) surrendered and joined the mainstream, said DIG (Southern range) Sarthak Sarangi.
