Dharmasala MLA Attacked, Tension In Jajpur

BHUBANESWAR: Dharmasala MLA Himanshu Sekhar Sahoo sustained minor injuries after being attacked by miscreants near Budha bridge in Jajpur district on Wednesday evening.
Sahoo was returning to Dharmasala after attending a meeting at Jajpur town when the incident occurred. His Personal Security Officer was also assaulted.
Sahoo alleged that the attack on him was engineered by BJD leader and former Jajpur MLA Pranab Prakash Das, who denied the charges. Pranab condemned the attack on Sahoo and denied BJD ever promoted hooliganism.
Tension gripped the area as the MLA's supporters blocked the road and demanded immediate arrest of the 'BJD goons'.
“We will arrest the attackers. Two platoons of police forces have been deployed to avoid any untoward incident,” said Jajpur SP, Yash Pratap Shrimal.
