CM Reviews Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Arrangements

BHUBANESWAR: Chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi here on Monday reviewed the preparations for the upcoming Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) convention, scheduled from January 8 to 10 in Bhubaneswar. 

The tourism department has blocked over 200 hotels with at least 3,700 rooms in Bhubaneswar, Puri, and Cuttack to enable the visitors to book their accommodation. 

The tourism department identified at least 30 enchanting tourist destinations in Bhubaneswar and Puri, including Jagannath Temple, Raghurajpur crafts village, Konark Sun Temple, Dhauli Peace Pagoda, Chilika-Satapada, and Lingaraj Temple among others.
The works department undertook road repairs and beautification projects along key routes connecting major venues and tourist spots. Special attention was given to proper street lighting and signage in multiple languages. 
 
The urban development department undertook special cleanliness drives and beautification projects at the tourist destinations. Public spaces and monuments will be illuminated with aesthetic lighting.
