Jolt To Jayanarayan, SC Rejects Bail Plea

BHUBANESWAR: The Supreme Court has turned down an anticipatory bail plea filed by senior BJP leader and Sambalpur MLA Jayanarayan Mishra in connection with the alleged assault on an on-duty lady police officer in the district on February 15, 2023.

“Let me receive the Supreme Court order and examine its details. Thereafter, I will be able to give my comments on it,” Mishra told media persons.

According to police sources, both the woman cop and Mishra had lodged separate FIRs against each other. Mishra moved the Supreme Court after his bail petition was rejected by the Orissa high court recently.

“Since the BJD-led government was in power then, a false case was purposely registered against me,” Mishra said.
